At West Moreton Anglican College, we offer a very broad and varied music program that inspires students of all ages to strive beyond their own expectations.
Our Music program commences in Prep and continues through to Year 12.
The Junior School supports the Piccolo Voci ("little voices") choir, the Junior Choir and the WestMAC Singers, and the enthusiasm and talent that our College has in its Junior School is enthralling.
Middle School - a time when students sometimes become self-conscious and doubting of their own abilities - presents a challenge for educators to continue fostering student interest in Music as a subject. We have therefore targeted particular interest areas and Music Industry priorites by developing and securing new computer hardware and software that will retain students already involved in our Music program and attract new students.
Year 8 students are able to participate in a Music Extension (Performance) program to allow development of personal potential beyond the scope of the Year 8 Music program.
In 2006, West Moreton Anglican College introduced the new Senior Music Syllabus into Year 11 Music with overwhelming student support. The new course allows students to focus on particular strengths and also encouranges better learning. Students in Year 12 may enrol in the Music Extension (Performance) Program which is an accredited Queensland Studiees Authority (QSA) subject.
