Our Farm

West Moreton Anglican College – due to its semi-rural setting and the sheer size of its campus – is able to support a fully working farm which allows students from both urban and rural backgrounds to acquire skills in horticulture and animal husbandry.  These are valuable experiences that would typically be denied them in other schools.

The farm is an exciting educational centre that boasts a mango orchard, vegetable cultivation, and pasture.

Emphasis is placed on animal enterprise.  The farm is home to a cattle herd of 15 head including six registered Charalais stud cattle.  The Cattle Show Team is one of the most respected in the district and travels to shows throughout south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Students can also work with poultry and goats.  Beekeeping is popular with many students and the product of the College’s hives wins many local Show awards.

Students also learn about fodder conservation and modern farming practices.

All students at West Moreton Anglican College have the opportunity to enjoy activities down on the farm.
