Welcome to the West Moreton International Website and to our College.
As Principal of West Moreton Anglican College, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to explore what our College has to offer international students. We value the enriching experiences that we, as a College, gain through having international students in our classrooms and as members of our community - and I know that the education experience that our international students have will make a positive difference to their lives.
Effective colleges in the 21st century must form an open and honest partnership between the parents, the school and the child and I call this “the triangle of success”. At West Moreton Anglican College, we understand that all three groups must work together to ensure that the children who attend our school are the winners. We also understand that children are children only once and that time is short. In effect it is “One Childhood … One Chance”.
Pastoral Care at WestMAC – as our College is affectionately known – underpins every other function of the College. Fundamentally, children should be able to walk through the school gates each morning and leave in the afternoon happy. I believe that all other educational programs will fall short of fruition unless pastoral care is effective.
Our academic curriculum takes the form of a whole school integrated plan and we have a deliberate focus on literacy, numeracy and technology. Technology is integrated across learning areas as a necessary “life skill” for the 21st Century.
West Moreton Anglican College offers a comprehensive extra-curricular program in sport and the arts to allow students to use their talents, and possibly discover talents previously unknown. All students from Prep through to Year 12 enjoy access to a comprehensive Outdoor Education program that doesn’t restrict education to the confines of the classroom.
