Casual Farm Labourer (weekends)

We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Casual Farm Labourer to join our agricultural science team, commencing asap.

The Farm Labourer supports the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the College’s educational farm under the direction of the Farm Manager. The main purpose of the farm is to provide a learning environment for the students studying Agricultural Sciences and Rural Operations as well as agriculturally based Junior School activities.

  • Feed livestock according to the explicit feed plan provided by Farm Manager – Agricultural Science.
  • Monitor and maintain livestock water on a daily basis.
  • Assist in monitoring and attending to livestock health and welfare including timely notification to Farm Manager of any changes to sick or injured animals.
  • Be available to carry out duties on weekends and public holidays and at any other time as required when Agricultural Assistant is absent.

You will have:

  • Knowledge and experience in the handling of cattle and sheep using low stress animal handling techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience in feeding and maintaining water supply for livestock.
  • Demonstrated relevant industry experience or currency.
