Leader of Learning – Health and Physical Education

The permanent position attracts a high-level PAR remuneration package and will commence at the start of Term 1 in January 2021.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and highly motivated applicant for a Leader of Learning – Health and Physical Education (HPE). You will have the expertise to lead academic improvement and inspire teaching colleagues along with a keen interest in building and developing a collaborative HPE team.

The Key Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
  • Being accountable for the personal safety and wellbeing of staff and students within the Department
  • Managing processes designed to improve the education outcomes of students
  • Ensuring that all procedures and deadlines associated with the delivery of the curriculum and the efficient running of the College are adhered to
  • Undertaking classroom teaching and associated activities as directed
  • Working collaboratively with the RTO Manager and liaise with external RTO's and other providers in relation to VET and other offerings

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration in Queensland as a teacher
  • Appropriate tertiary degree(s) and teaching qualifications

Skills / Knowledge
  • Expectations to support the Anglican Ethos of the College.
  • Extensive classroom teaching experience at Middle and Senior School levels
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Queensland school-based system
  • Knowledge of Australian Curriculum in HPE F-10
  • Knowledge of Queensland P-10 Syllabus documents
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and effectively within teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team
  • Proven ability to develop and/or implement policy programs within the HPE area
  • Proficient in the use of Information and Communication Technologies in pedagogical practice
