Teacher in Charge - Digital Technologies

WestMAC is seeking an innovative and experienced Teacher in Charge – Digital Technologies, who can develop ICT and Digital Technologies curriculum and inspire student curiosity and engagement. Expertise in STEM, robotics and/or coding is desirable. This role attracts a Position of Added Responsibility (PAR) allowance. This is a full-time and permanent position commencing January 2022.

Suitably qualified and highly motivated applicants should be able to:

  • Support the Christian values of the College.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in planning and delivering a curriculum that develops 21st Century learning skills, with a particular emphasis on the areas of collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication.
  • Provide extensive classroom teaching experience at Middle and Senior School levels, including the implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to plan and deliver engaging lessons that maximise learning outcomes for students.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to integrate technology into effective classroom practice.
  • Demonstrate high-level written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to work constructively with students, parents, teachers, and staff.
  • Demonstrate a capacity to develop a climate of trust with colleagues, students, and parents in a Christian school setting in the Anglican tradition.
  • Be a leader and an advocate in contemporary learning and education.
  • Support and provide excellent pastoral care to WestMAC’s students.
  • Eligible to work in Australia, Qualified Teacher and currently registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.

Selection Criteria should include:

  • SC.1 Proven knowledge of Australian Curriculum Technologies – Digital Technologies and General Capabilities
  • SC.2 Demonstrated experience in writing curriculum programs to meet the new Senior Digital Solutions Syllabus.
  • SC.3 Knowledge and experience in delivering eSafety content.
  • SC.4 Proven commitment to support the Christian values at WestMAC and the co-curricular program of the College.
  • SC.5 Demonstrated capability, experience or qualifications to teach Religious and Values Education (RAVE) in an Anglican School
  • SC. 6 Ability to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate professional boundaries and standards when working with children and young people.
