The Visitor Immersion Program is an excellent opportunity for individual international students to learn English and experience Australian culture by studying in one of Queensland’s leading schools.

Who should enrol in this course?

Students who are travelling to Australia on a visitor visa who wish to study English and experience Australian high school classes. Entry to high school classes is dependent on the student’s English language ability.

Course Duration:

The program is between two and seven weeks in length. Those requiring a longer visit should apply for the Study Abroad Program. Students can commence the VIP program at any time during the year.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants should be between 13-18 years of age however consideration will be given to younger students on a case by case basis. Younger students must be accompanied by a guardian (as defined by the Department of Immigration).

Accommodation:

Students can live with a Host Family arranged by the College or a guardian (defined by the Department of Immigration).

Application Process:

Complete an application form and email to ashaw@wmac.com.au six (6) weeks prior to arriving. The application will be assessed, and an offer made within one week. Acceptance of the offer and full payment of the invoice is required four (4) weeks prior to arrival. A homestay application will be provided, and transport arrangements confirmed when a receipt has been issued. Students will complete an English test on arrival.

Student Services:

  • West Moreton Anglican College will arrange accommodation for students with a safe, friendly host family.
  • Homestay accommodation includes 3 meals and snacks each day, a weekly laundry service and daily transfer to and from school. All members of the family over 18 years of age will hold a current blue card (police check).
  • Emergency support and counselling – 24 hours
  • Airport pickup on arrival and departure
  • Each student will be issued with a certificate of attendance
