Located approximately 10 kilometres from RAAF Base Amberley, WestMAC is the school of choice for over 70 Australian Defence Force families. Due to our close proximity and longstanding history with the armed services, we have a unique understanding of the challenges of military life and the sacrifices our Defence families make as they serve our nation.
Our Defence Support Programs
To provide specific support to our Defence families, particularly during transitions between schools or parent deployment, our pastoral care team includes a dedicated full-time Defence School Mentor. In addition, our staff receive specialised training to assist Defence children and families to integrate into our College and local communities.
Our goal is to monitor and protect the wellbeing of our Defence families, while also enhancing the awareness and appreciation of their lifestyle within our broader school community. To achieve this, the College commemorates significant events throughout the year, including ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day with active participation from our Defence families and cadets.
