About the role
We are seeking a suitably qualified and highly motivated IT Professional (permanent, full-time) who is passionate about education and the positive support of young people.
Reporting to the ICT Manager, you will be responsible for providing IT and Audio/Visual (AV) support, maintenance and ongoing development of IT hardware and application solutions to College stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving, prioritising, and resolving IT support calls and managing the helpdesk queue.
- Implement and support AV solutions for day-to-day and special event College activities.
- Oversee and ensure efficient operation of all College Administration IT Systems.
- Ensure all data back-ups are scheduled, functioning and stored appropriately.
- Coordinate the provisioning and maintenance of College IT equipment including laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile devices and printers, as well as the production and issuing of staff and student ID cards.
- Assist in the maintenance of the College active directory to ensure all staff or student queries and College needs have been appropriately addressed.
- Liaise with third party vendors or suppliers to obtain quotes, place orders, arrange repairs or make payments as approved.
- Provide training to staff and students in relation to hardware, software, and services.
- Assist with ICT project work.
- It is expected that this role will support the conditions outlined in the ICT Support Out of Hours Policy.
The successful candidate will possess:
- A certificate or tertiary qualifications in ICT
- Sound knowledge of hardware including peripherals such as printers, VOIP handsets and Wireless Access Points.
- The ability to trouble shoot, diagnose and coordinate the repair of most hardware faults.
- Sound knowledge of all workstation operating systems in particular the Microsoft Windows Suite.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
- Sound knowledge of the software available for administrative and networking purposes.
- The ability to install and configure most software available for workstations.
- The ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair most software problems.
- Experience working in a school environment, along with knowledge of and ability to use The Alpha School System (TASS) software (highly desirable).
- Solid understanding and appreciation of Child Safe legislation, cultural safety and compliance requirements and a Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain one.
