WestMAC offers a comprehensive Agricultural program where students can gain hands-on experience, skills and knowledge on a working farm within the College campus.
We recognise the importance of Agriculture as part of the broader 21st century sociological, cultural, economic and environmental systems. Our specialist teachers empower students to learn, understand and apply industry best practice.
With an emphasis on beef cattle enterprise, the farm is home to a small Charolais Stud herd and commercial beef herd.
All students at West Moreton Anglican College have the opportunity to enjoy activities at the farm.
Cattle Show Team
WestMAC’s Cattle Show Team has been operating for over 10 years and continues to go from strength to strength. Middle and Senior School students participate in the Cattle Show Team; one of the most respected across South-East Queensland.
Through regular training sessions and exhibiting at various rural shows, including the Royal Brisbane Show (Ekka), students learn important skills through preparing and presenting the College’s cattle.
Cattle Show Team members take great delight in demonstrating their skills, understanding and professionalism at local Agricultural Shows. Student performances have been commented on by members of the Beef Industry as being of a consistently high standard and have been awarded many accolades, including State Finalists for Young Judges and Young Paraders competitions.
