Governance and Organisational Structure

West Moreton Anglican College is one of eleven schools owned by The Corporation of the Synod of the Diocese of Brisbane – Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ). The Anglican Schools Commission (ASC) is one of five commissions within ACSQ. The ASC provides strategic direction and policy development to, and monitoring of, Anglican Schools and the ACSQ. The Governing Body of the College is Diocesan Council.

The West Moreton Anglican College Council meets eight times per year. The Principal and Director of Corporate Services are ex-officio member of the College Council.

There are four committees of the College Council – Finance and Audit, Risk & Compliance, Facilities and Divinity. Each committee meets between 4 and 6 times per year. The Principal and Director of Corporate Services are ex officio members of College Council committees while members of the Executive Leadership Team hold membership on the various sub committees. The Council members represent a range of expertise with a strong emphasis on commercial and educational experience.

The College’s Executive Team is an experienced and high performing team. Recent (June 2023) external diagnostic team analysis supports this claim.

Under the current structure, the following Executive Team positions report directly to the Principal.
• Deputy Principal
• Chaplain
• Director of Corporate Serves
• Director of Human Resources
• Head of Junior School
• Head of Middle School
• Head of Senior School
• Executive Assistant to the Principal

Additionally, the following Executive Leadership Team positions report to the Deputy Principal under the current structure:
• Director of Curriculum
• Director of International Student Programs
• Director of Student Experiences
• Head of Professional Practice and Learning

The Executive Team has regular fortnightly tactical meetings to deal with business-as-usual matters. Strategic meetings are also scheduled on other fortnights to address specific strategic matters arising from the Strategic Plan initiatives or other emergent matters. This team also meets quarterly for full-day planning retreats.
