Key Selection Criteria

Spiritual leadership

Active engagement in an Anglican Church or faith community.

Ability to inspire and encourage staff and students in their faith journey in line with the ASC stated Anglican ethos and values where all God’s children are welcomed, loved and affirmed.

Ability to work closely with the College Chaplaincy team School Chaplain to ensure the rituals and traditions of the Anglican Church are visible, practised and meaningful to the College community.

Strategic leadership


Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role in a high performing school.

Ability to influence, promote and embed change that continuously improves the educational and school experience for students from Preparatory to Year 12.

Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, designing and implementing initiatives that position a school for long-term success.

Learning leadership and innovation


Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a learning culture that translates into strong levels of student engagement, motivation and achievement in all facets of school life for students from Preparatory to year 12 in a large co-educational day school.

Skilled in developing innovative programs, structures, systems, data and technology to support and enable a rich, coherent and challenging learning experience for all West Moreton Anglican College students.

An innovative and entrepreneurial approach that is future focussed across all areas of a school.

Staff leadership


Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining a culture of professional excellence and high performance within an organisational leadership framework in which modelling the way, inspiring a shared vision, challenging the process, enabling others to act and encouraging the heart are central.

Ability to foster strong teams and mobilise these teams towards new directions through high quality professional development whilst maintaining a focus on personal care and wellbeing.

Demonstrated ability to create a culture where the prevailing professional standards are conducive to the development and performance of staff and result in a positive and constructive work environment.

Student safety and wellbeing


Knowledgeable in contemporary matters of wellbeing and systems of pastoral care that are complementary to WestMAC’s P-12 Student Safety and Wellbeing Philosophy Statement

Skilled and passionate about building quality relationships with students, acting as a positive and inspirational role model.

Community and stakeholder engagement



Demonstrated ability to lead and engage actively in community life, building positive relationships with parents, alumni and key stakeholders, to balance and manage their needs constructively, earn their respect and sustain their support and commitment to the College.

Organisation and commercial capacity


Demonstrated capacity to understand the business of the College and how to ensure that it runs efficiently and effectively. This is likely to include, but is not limited to:
- School operations and resource management;
- Policy development and implementation;
- Budgeting, planning and reporting;
- Risk management and compliance;
- Enrolment management in a competitive environment, including marketing, promotion, social media and brand development;
- Understanding and nurturing effective governance processes and relationships.
